Margaret Young
Margaret Young has over 30 years of experience working with children, young people and adult services, in health, local authority and non-profit organisations. Her expertise includes in-depth knowledge of volunteer organisations which was gained in public and third sectors.
Margaret was formerly the Strategic Lead for Volunteering Programme with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, with responsibilities spanning everything from policy to governance, as well as collaboration with a wide range of charities and non-profit organisations. Her work within the national framework for volunteering resulted in Scottish Government's decision to reframe the National Programme for Volunteering in NHS Scotland and create the first National Programme Manager's post in 2011.
Margaret is passionate about people, quality, collaboration and partnership working and is driven to provide the best possible outcomes for services designed to support patients and families.
For over 20 years, she’s had the pleasure and privilege of working closely with colleagues from Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Crosshouse Children’s Fund. Margaret has been grateful for the opportunities to work collaboratively and witness countless positive outcomes throughout the years, all of which have, and continue to make a difference to the lives of patients and families.
