Kirsten Watson is CEO of Crosshouse Children’s Fund, which is making £5,000 available for the initiative:

“Money worries should never prevent a child from accessing the vital care they need. Unfortunately, the costs of travelling to the hospital, paying for childcare, taking time away from work, and other hidden costs mount up. Families tell us that they feel helpless when faced with these financial pressures, and the frustrating reality that they simply cannot afford to travel to hospital.

“Our hope is that by supporting this new Accessibility Fund we’ll be able to help children and young people more easily access the vital care and support that they need in hospital.”
